Exclusive license
Summary of the exclusive license agreement. The full contract is sent as a PDF after purchase. The PDF contains the German original (binding) and an English translation in the same file.

This summary names Joshua Hahn alias Kid Patron as an example licensor because he operates the platform. If you buy a beat from another producer, that producer is your licensor; their details (name, artist name, collecting-society / IPI numbers if any) are shown on the beat page and are written into the license PDF after purchase. For collabs both producers appear in the purchase PDF with split and credits.
§ 1 – Subject
The contract grants exclusive usage rights in an instrumental (“beat”) of the respective licensor (Joshua Hahn alias Kid Patron or an external producer on the platform, as shown on the beat page and in the license PDF).
§ 2 – Exclusive license
The licensor grants an exclusive, worldwide, unlimited license, including release on physical and digital channels, commercial use, public performance and reproduction. After the sale the same beat is not licensed or sold to anyone else.
§ 3 – Edits
Minor edits that do not change the artistic character are allowed (pauses, transitions, sound effects, mix/master). Changing the melody, harmony or basic structure, or using the work in a defamatory context, is not allowed. Hook vocals added by the licensor may be omitted or changed.
§ 4 – Collecting societies and credits
If the licensor is a GEMA member they register the beat as composer (for Kid Patron: no. 1763781). The purchase itself is not reported to GEMA. Split: composer 50% / lyricist 50% if you add lyrics; otherwise 100% composer. You must credit the licensor as producer/composer in all releases (for Kid Patron at least “Produced by Kid Patron”).
You must register the finished song with the competent collecting society and name the licensor as composer using the details in the license PDF (name, artist name, GEMA no., IPI). That is GEMA if you are a GEMA member. If you are abroad or a member of a sister society (e.g. AKM, SUISA, PRS, SACEM, ASCAP, BMI), you register there with the same IPI data so the composer share can reach GEMA under reciprocal agreements. In distributor metadata you must not claim 100% of the composition.
§ 5–11 – Further terms
Copyright stays with the licensor. German law applies. If you are not a member of GEMA or a comparable society and generate no reportable income, the registration duty does not apply until that changes; the credit duty always applies. The license is valid without a signature: by purchasing and paying you accept the contract. The German original in the PDF prevails.
