Melody licenses
Summary. The full contract comes as a PDF after purchase (German original binding, English translation in the same file). Limited and Unlimited: WAV and MIDI. Exclusive: ZIP pack with master, MIDI and – where included – stems.
The German version prevails
These pages are also provided in English for your information. If the German and English versions differ, the German original is binding.
This summary names Joshua Hahn alias Kid Patron as an example licensor because he operates the platform. If you buy a melody from another producer, that producer is your licensor; their details are shown on the melody page and written into the license PDF.
§ 1 – Subject
Usage rights in a melody of the respective licensor. Delivery is the master melody plus MIDI; exclusive as a ZIP that may also include stems.
§ 2 – Three models
Exclusive: sole worldwide use with no time limit. The same melody is not sold again.
Limited: sold only four times in total – then never again. Not sole use; at most four buyers.
Unlimited Lease: non-exclusive. You may release and use commercially without a unit cap. The melody may still be licensed to others.
You may not resell the melody as your own instrumental or sample pack.
§ 3 – Delivery
Exclusive: ZIP with untagged master and MIDI, plus stems if they were part of the offer. Limited & Unlimited: untagged WAV and MIDI.
§ 4 – Collecting societies and credits
Credit at least “Melody by [Producer]” or “Produced by [Producer]” naming the actual licensor. If the licensor is a GEMA member they are named as composer (50% composition / 50% lyrics if you write lyrics). The purchase itself is not reported. Register the finished work with GEMA if you are a GEMA member, or with your local sister society if you are abroad, using the producer data from the PDF. Do not claim 100% of the composition in distributor metadata.
§ 5–6 – Copyright and closing
Copyright stays with the licensor. German law applies. The license is valid without a signature – by purchasing and paying you accept the terms.
